Safe Tree Removal in Buxton
Sectional dismantling of a large dead trunk beside a property
The Brief
A large tree beside a Buxton property had died back and become a real risk. It stood close to the building with limited room around it, so there was no scope to simply fell it in one piece. The owner wanted it taken down safely, well clear of the property, and the site left tidy afterwards, with the usable timber kept back for them.
What We Did
Our work included:
- Assessed the tree and access: Checked the condition of the dead tree, the space around it and the position of the building, then planned a safe sequence for taking it down.
- Set up climbing and rigging: Roped up and rigged the tree so each piece could be controlled and lowered rather than dropped, protecting the property and everyone nearby.
- Dismantled in sections: Took the tree down piece by piece from the top, working methodically with the tight access rather than felling it whole.
- Lowered the wood clear of the building: Guided each section down into the safe working area, keeping everything away from the property and boundaries.
- Cleared and chipped the site: Chipped the brash and smaller arisings and cleared them away, leaving the ground tidy.
- Left the timber stacked: Cut the usable timber down and stacked it neatly on site for the owner to keep, as requested.
The Result
The dead tree was removed safely with no damage to the property or the surrounding area, despite the tight access. The site was left clean and tidy, the brash chipped and taken away, and the timber cut and stacked for the owner. A potential hazard right next to the building has been dealt with properly and the space around it opened back up.
Job Duration: Approximately one day from set-up to the final clear-up.
